Hi there! Welcome to my blog! I am so glad you found me!

My name is Bernice. I am a city giraffe; born and raised here in Washington, D.C. I am a passionate (amateur) naturalist and birder. My BFF, Hector, and I can usually be found exploring the city’s green spaces. I document my adventures here.

I am close to my family. My parents and baby sister, Louisa, live near me, as does my dear great-aunt Mimi.

The illustrations in my posts are drawn by my friend, Auntie NuNu.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution!

Finally, this blog is dedicated to Ella and Abby, two very special humans who warm the cockles of my heart.
